Aerotech 24-40 RMS Case

Postby johnnwwa on Fri Nov 06, 2009 4:50 pm

Well I made the jump to Aerotech RMS but having said that I'm bummed because the case will not fit in any of my 24 mm BP motor mounts because of the forward end of the motor hook. Looks to me like I will have to grind off about a 1/32" . I would like to use motor hook/masking tape for retention of the case. I would hate to loose the case.

Yes, I had exactly the same problem with the 18/20 case on my 18skin. The BP well for the ejection charge is too big to go around the end of the hook so... I'm going to be doing some grinding also, argghh.

Yup. I have a 24/40 case that has a large gouge in the forward end closure due to an Estes motor hook. I grind down all of my motor hooks now, and use a thin masking tape retaining ring on Estes BP motors now when not using RMS cases. Has worked well for me so far.
Best Regards
